Dear U10 Girls and U12 Girls,

You can't just beat a team,
You have to leave a lasting impression in their minds so they never want to see you again
- Mia Hamm (the US soccer player, Olympian and World Cup winner)

With a season's performance of :
  • U10 Girls : P = 29, W = 26, L = 3
  • U12 Girls : P = 31 ,W = 29, D = 1, L = 1
you girls managed to achieve just that!

Your record speaks volumes of the commitment that you have shown at your trainings, the passion with which you have competed at every tournament and the collective hard work that you have put in as a team and as a squad.

With performances as enviable as these, you have firmly established HKU SB RFC as the best rugby club for girls in Hong Kong. Well done ladies !!

Enjoy the off-season, get fitter, stronger for 2012-13.

Dear Parents,

Michael Jordan once said : Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships

Throughout this season the Girls have stuck together, trained together, grown together and developed incredibly well as a Team. The Girls have played good, clean and highly disciplined rugby and were a treat to watch not only for us but for other teams as well.

The Coaches would like to sincerely thank you for your enthusiasm for rugby and the constant encouragement that you have provided the young ladies right through the season.

Thanks to the season long hard work put in by the girls, this......... was a season of many firsts :

 U10 Girls

  • Competed with 3 teams throughout the season, making us the only Club in Hong Kong to have ever achieved this landmark.
  • Won the Cup at the AGT for the 2nd successive year

U12 Girls

  • Started the season Ranked # 1 and with 5 Cup wins out of 6 tournaments they ended the season Ranked # 1. So that's two years running......a feat not yet achieved by any other girls rugby Club.
  • Won the Cup at the AGT, having won the Plate in the 2 previous editions.
  • U10s & U12s both annexed the the AGT Cup....a feat not achieved by any other club thus far.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU to all the Coaches for their long and relentless hours of efforts at the training sessions.

Enjoy the off-season..... August is just round the corner

Best wishes and warm regards,

Manoj

Hong Kong Rugby Sevens Results

U12 Girls

HKU 2 continued their season long dominance over DeA 2, beating them 2-1

HKU 1 drew 1-1 with DBP

Football Club Festival - Mar 11, 2012

U12 Girls

Another display of scintillating performance by the U12 Girls at the HKFC Festival.

The U12 Girls Team 1 not only annexed the Kim Lam Trophy at today's HKFC Festival but also secured the Kim Lam League Cup for this season.

Enroute to the finals they beat HKFC/SKS (4-0), FK (7-0), DeA (3-0),DBP (3-2 in the semis). The final was against SKS and the girls ground out a 2-1 victory. Another tournament Cup win sealed !

Having won the Cup at 5 of the 6 tournaments this season, the Team was presented with the Kim Lam League Cup as well. That ensured that the U12 Girls started the season ranked # 1 in Hong Kong and ended it right at the top. And this for the 2nd season running !

With the disbanding of the Plate and Cup Divisions for this tournament, it was expected to be an uphill battle for the developmental Team 2. That said, the younger lot bravely soldiered on and qualified for the semi-finals.

Heartiest congratulations to the girls and the parents who braved the incessant rain all day and did themselves and the Club proud !

Best regards,
Manoj

Valley Fort Festival - Feb 12, 2012

U12 Girls

Cup Team:
  • Comprehensively outplayed every opposition team with scores of 5-1 vs SKS, 3-0 vs DeA, 5-0 Vs SLB, and 6-0 vs DBP. 4 straight wins !
  • With 19 tries scored the Team bested it's season start record of having scored 18 tries in a tournament.
  • With yet another imperious Cup win the U12 Girls juggernaut is back on track.
Plate Team:
  • Put up brave performances against the older/Team 1s of FK and HKFC-SKS but unfortunately lost.
  • Their true fighting spirit showed up in the last game against DeA2 where the girls were all heart and secured a come-from-behind 3-2 win. Well done girls !!

Tai Po Dragon's Festival - Jan 15, 2012

U12 Girls

Plate Division Team:
Struggled with the wet conditions and ended the tournament with 1 win (1-0 Vs DeA 2) and 2 losses (0-3 Vs SLB, 0-1 Vs HKFC).

Cup Division Team:
3 wins (1-0 Vs FK, 3-1 Vs DeA 1, 2-1 Vs SKS) and 1 draw (1-1 Vs DBP)
So, though another unbeaten run today, but the Team narrowly lost out on the Cup on the basis of a try difference.

Once again, great enthusiasm shown by the girls and incredible support provided by the parents !

Best regards,
Manoj

Flying Kukri's Festival - Dec. 11, 2011

U12 Girls

Cup Division Team

With a blow hot blow cold performance today, Team 1 battled their way through to the 3rd successive cup win this season.

The team started slowly and stuttered to a 1-2 loss against DBP (our first loss this season), but then picked up their act and followed that with 2-1 (SKS) and 5-0 (HKFC) wins. The crunch game was the final one against DeA where the girls had their work cut out - a must win situation and to win by x number of tries. Needless to say, the Team upped their ante and won by a 3-1 margin. The Cup was ours.....though by just 1 try !

Congratulations on a hatrick of Cup wins !

Plate Division Team

The younger lot have steadily continued to grown in stature and continued to impress us all with their maturity thus far this season.
Despite going unbeaten today (2 draws and 1 win : 1-1 vs DeA2, 1-1 vs SLB, 3-2 vs FK) and despite beating the eventual champions (FKs), the girls lost out on the Plate merely due to tries difference.
Great effort girls - you did yourself, your Team and your Club proud !

Sandy Bay Festival - Nov. 27, 2011

U12 Girls

Team 2:
In only their 2nd tournament as a Team, the players impressed with their cohesivity and displayed some determiend performances. They battled their way through to wins over SLB (1-0),  DeA - 2 (4-2) and narrowly lost to HKFC/FK (3-4). Their enthusiastic display was justly rewarded as they secured the Plate ! Fantastic performance indeed !!

Team 1:
Carried forward their momentum of the DeA Tournament and yet again won all 4 games. Their were some gritty performances, sublime passing and robust tackling by the girls as they stamped their authority over their rivals with wins: 3-0 vs SKS, 3-0 vs DeA1, 2-1 vs SKS, 3-1 vs DeA.
Needless to say, they bagged the Cup again !

Congratulations to the U12 Girls for having annexed the silverware in both Cup and Plate divisions !

Results U11/12 Girls

Team 1 :

Delivered clinical performances true to their No.1 ranking. They won all 4 matches with efficient ease and annexed the Kim Lam Cup. Their 19 tries went unanswered.

Team 2

Playing their first tournament as a team, overcame their first game hiccups to end the tournament with 1 loss and 2 wins.  Were unfortunate to miss the Plate.

All in all - heart warming performances by the girls.
